Dear Shepherds Barnabas and Rebekah Cho,
We at Eau Claire House Church wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Year 2008 was an eventful year for our House Church, to say the least. We had, for instance, closed our House Church worship services for a little over a month this past summer. This was in order that we would not burden some of our beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. They were part of our House Church ministry for several years, but were not being united in one heart and spirit for campus ministry. To help them find their own church and follow their own calling, we stopped having worship service. It was a time of confusion, frustration and profound sadness. It was also a time of humility, soul searching and intensive prayer.

Through this painful process, we believe God has helped us grow more pure in our motives. The missionary families (Missionaries Josephine and Mike McCandless, Teresa Kim, Sarah and Abraham Nahm) came together with one heart and spirit. Our resolution: To focus on teaching the Bible to campus students, and to rely solely on prayer. God answered our prayers in many wonderful and miraculous ways: Such as, students (Ben and Dan) coming and asking to be discipled through the Word of God; Ben actively inviting his friends (Little Ben, Isaac, Nate, Henry, Neu Kou, Johanna and Stephanie) to study the Bible; Justin calling from Tennessee (out of his own initiative) asking if he can be the Christmas worship service messenger; and then 44 people gathering for the worship service, out of which 32 were American college students, all invited by their friends, not us. We can only praise and thank God, for all of these wonderful works He has done, according to His own wisdom and power!

Our New Year resolution is, therefore, very clear: That we would continue to focus on teaching the Bible to college students and wholeheartedly rely on prayer. Please pray that we will all the more devote ourselves in asking, listening, and following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Please pray that we may serve His flock according to His will and His wisdom, with His love overflowing in our hearts. May the Lord indeed be Lord over our lives and this House Church ministry. May He raise up servants of Him who can actively serve Him throughout their lifetime, to advance His Kingdom on earth in various ministries.

We are so thankful of your love and care, and faithful prayer for us and our ministry. In the midst of our trying times, we received so much love from coworkers all over the world; and we deeply appreciate God’s mercy, who has moved you to love and care for us so dearly. We are greatly indebted to your love. Please be noted that we are quite happy and energized, now that we have tasted God’s mercy and have seen what He can do when we solely rely on Him. Please pray that we may freely and effectively share this Gospel (Good News) of God with our Bible students, so that they may in turn become very fruitful for His glory.
May you always be filled with the Holy Spirit, to carry out the disciple making ministry in Shinsoo center with wisdom, power, authority and love! Thank God for blessing your family with a second child; what a wonderful blessing from God!
Immanuel!
Love in Christ,
Abraham and Sarah Nahm
and the members of the House Church
